One of the most commonly asked questions about the new Adobe Creative Cloud is whether you can still use the software on more than one computer. Fortunately, the answer is yes.

Many creative professionals use multiple computers. You might have a desktop computer in the studio and a laptop that you use at home, on the road, or for presentations. To accommodate this common practice, Adobe Creative Suite allowed you to install the software on two different devices.

Using Adobe Creative Cloud on Multiple Computers

Here’s how it works:

  • Purchase an individual license for Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Install the software on a computer with any type of operating system
  • If you have a secondary device, install the software on it, even if it uses a different operating system
  • You can use Creative Cloud on either computer any time, but you cannot use them both at the same time

If you have more than two computers, you are allowed to install Creative Cloud apps on a third device, but you will have to de-activate the software on one of the others before you can activate Creative Cloud on the third. You can re-activate at any time as long as only one other device is activated. You can also use the software offline on any or all of your computers, but Creative Cloud does check your license periodically, which requires you to have an Internet connection.

Our MelroseTEC team knows that a well-designed technical infrastructure is essential to maximizing your productivity and growing your business. Interested in learning more? Visit our MelroseTEC section and start solving your business and operational challenges.

The license agreement has essentially not changed, but the membership structure is different. You can use Creative Cloud in many of the same ways that you use Creative Suite, but with better file sharing, faster upgrades, and cloud storage.

One of the greatest benefits of Adobe Creative Cloud is the ability to install the software on computers that use different operating systems. With Creative Suite, you had to choose one or the other, or invest in two versions of the software. For individuals or companies that use multiple operating systems, switching to Creative Cloud can save money in more ways than one.
