Sometimes it’s user error, confusion about how the software works, or a glitch in the program. Software problems can be extremely frustrating. If you are making the switch to Adobe Creative Cloud and have encountered a roadblock, the following tips might help you get past it.

Installing Adobe Creative Cloud

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=”Row” _builder_version=”3.0.47″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” _builder_version=”3.0.47″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]When you install Adobe Creative Cloud on a Mac or PC, an application called Adobe Application Manager is also installed to help guide you through the process. When you first download the Application Manager, you must accept all of the security warnings that occur during the process and you may need to allow access through your firewall if you have one.

The download process requires an Internet connection and computer memory. If you have a slower computer or a poor connection, it may appear to freeze during the download process. Simply wait until the process is complete and your computer will return to normal.

Logging in to Adobe Creative Cloud

You must have an Adobe ID to access Creative Cloud. If you have multiple individual memberships, each one will have a unique Adobe ID; if you use Creative Cloud for Teams, you can manage all of your seats with one login. If you’re new to Adobe, you can easily create a new Adobe ID. If you already own the software, your ID is your e-mail address.

Managing Creative Cloud Apps

The Adobe Application Manager is the tool that allows you to select which apps to download to your computer. Simply click on the apps you want to install and the download will initiate. You do not need to wait for each individual download; the program automatically queues them and installs them one at a time. If you have trouble during installation, you can cancel the download and start it again, relaunch Adobe Application Manager, or contact Adobe support.

Converting from CS6 to Adobe Creative Cloud

If you purchased CS6 before Creative Cloud was released and have decided to make the switch, you must associate the software with your new Creative Cloud membership. If you do not do this, you may see a trial screen or be asked to enter a serial number. In the trial screen, simply click the button that says License this Software and sign in with the same Adobe ID that you used for your membership.

If you have already purchased Adobe Creative Cloud and are having trouble, call the experts at MelroseMAC. If you want to give Creative Cloud a try before you buy, we offer a free trial that allows you to test drive all the apps. Contact us today to learn more.
